Program Details:
DAY 1 : FEZ – ATLAS MOUNTAINS - ZIZ VALLEY – MERZOUGA DESERT
At 7:00 am, your driver will meet you either at your riad or hotel to begin your journey to Merzouga. You’ll cross the Middle Atlas through Irfan Midelt, Errachidia, Erfoud, and Rissani. Depending on the weather conditions, you’ll have lunch in one of the cities or villages along the way. During the journey, you’ll travel through forests, steep rocks, and Berber villages as you cross the Atlas Mountains and make your way towards the Sahara Desert. Halfway through, you’ll stop for lunch in the city of Midelt, which is known for its fossils and rocks. When you arrive at the Kasbah of Merzouga, you can freshen up with a hot shower or a dip in the pool, depending on the weather. After some rest, you’ll be served dinner at the Kasbah.
DAY 2 : VISIT OF THE REGION OF MERZOUGA AND CAMEL RIDE
After breakfast, you’ll depart to visit the village of Khamliya, where Gnawa people of African origin have settled in the Moroccan desert in search of a better life. Next, you’ll visit the city of Rissani, its souk, where you can immerse yourself in local products, and a restaurant where you can try Berber pizza (medfouna). In the afternoon, you’ll ride camels across the dunes and explore the mysteries of the sea of sand. You’ll stop at a pristine oasis and enjoy the tranquility of the desert, the splendor of nature, and the breathtaking sunset. Finally, you’ll have dinner and spend the night in a Berber tent situated at the foot of one of the highest dunes in Erg Chebbi.
DAY 3 : MERZOUGA - TOUDRA GORGES – DADES GORGES - OUARZAZATE
After breakfast and a refreshing shower, you’ll depart for Ourzazate via the Toudra Gorges, located 14 km away from the town of Tinghir. You’ll pass through the village of Boumalen Dades, Kalaat Megouna (the Valley of Roses), and Skoura before reaching Ourzazate. Finally, you’ll have dinner and spend the night at the hotel.
DAY 4 : OUARZAZATE – AIT BEN HADDOU KASBAH – ATLAS MOUNTAINS - MARRAKECH
After breakfast, you’ll depart for Marrakech. Before leaving Ourzazate, you can visit the Aïtours Kasbah founded by Pacha Laglaoui. Ten minutes away, you can also take a guided tour of the movie studios (50 Crazy People), located 20 km from Ourzazate. At 9 km from the national road, you’ll find the famous Atha Benhaddou Kasbah, which you should plan to visit for at least an hour. After the visit, you’ll continue on to Marrakech, enjoying beautiful scenery along the way. You’ll stop for lunch at a restaurant along the road before being dropped off in Marrakech.
