5 Days Tour From Fes To Marrakech Via Sahara Desert And Merzouga

This 5-day tour takes you from Fez to Marrakech through the stunning Moroccan desert, where you can embark on a camel trek and witness breathtaking sunsets on the dunes of Merzouga. You’ll also explore the beautiful landscapes in the heart of the Atlas Mountains and the Ziz Valley, visit ancient Kasbahs, and marvel at the magnificent gorges of Toudra and Dades. You’ll spend one night camping in the heart of the desert, surrounded by the tranquility of the landscape.

Program Details:

DAY 1 : FEZ - IFRANE - AZROU - ERFOUD - MERZOUGA.

“We’ll be picking you up from the hotel at 8 am to start our journey to Merzouga. Our route takes us through the scenic Middle Atlas, a 350-kilometer mountain range stretching from southwest to northwest. Along the way, we’ll pass through charming cities like Ifrane, often called the “Moroccan Switzerland” for its picturesque architecture, as well as Azrou, a well-known Berber city. We’ll also journey through the valley and gorges of Ziz, and visit cities such as Midelt and Erfoud. From Erfoud, we’ll take a desert track to Merzouga, where we’ll spend the night at a hotel near the entrance of the desert.”

DAY 2 : ENJOYING THE MERZOUGA DESERT.

“On the second day, our focus will be on experiencing the breathtaking beauty of the Eastern Sahara. We’ll embark on a 4X4 adventure into the desert, exploring nomadic villages, admiring oases, and traversing the dunes of Erg Chebbi. Later, we’ll visit the renowned village of Khamlia, home to the Gnawa people – descendants of African slaves known for their captivating folk music. As dusk approaches, we’ll head back to the hotel and mount camels for a journey to a Berber camp situated in the heart of the dunes. There, we’ll enjoy a delicious dinner and spend the night under the stars.”

DAY 3 : MERZOUGA – RISSANI – TINGHIR – TODRA GORGES – DADES GORGE

Get up early to watch the sunrise, then ride a camel back to the dunes. After breakfast and shower, we drive to Rissani and Erfoud, visit the petrified marble factory, then continue to the palm trees of Touroug and Tinjdad. Todra Gorge will be our lunch stop. In the afternoon we continue to the Dades Gorge via Boumalne. Dinner and overnight at hotel.

DAY 4 : GORGES DU DADES – KELAAM’GOUNA – SKOURA – OUARZAZATE

After breakfast we return to the Dades valley and follow the road to Boutaghrar where all the colors of nature meet. Our way is the Way of the Thousand Castles, which passes through the Castle and Chur, the Valley of Roses and the Skoura Palm Grove. Kasbah Amredhyle can be visited. We will also visit Kasbah Aït Benhaddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and spend the night in a hotel in Ouarzazate.

DAY 5 : OUARZAZATE - AIT BEN HADDOU - MARRAKECH

Visit a city famous for its Kasbahs, including the World Heritage Site of Taurite and one of the most beautiful palaces in the region. Ouarzazate Castle, not far from the city, we stopped to visit the cinema and the film studio museum, where there are many international films such as: (Gladiator, Lawrence of Arabia, Game of Thrones, Babel… …) . After 20 km we turn right to visit the famous Ait Ben Haddou Castle. After the visit, we will continue our journey through the High Atlas Mountains, admiring its majestic landscapes and hidden Berber villages at the foot of vast valleys. (Optional: we can have lunch at a local restaurant on the Tichka Pass) Otherwise, if you want to use the remaining time to visit the magnificent Majorelle Gardens, we will continue to Marrakech.
